Award by Ethisphere Institute recognises exceptional ethical leadership

Out of a record number of nominations for the award, Rezidor secured its place on the list by going the extra mile, implementing upright business practices and initiatives that are instrumental to the company’s success, benefit the community, and raise the bar for ethical standards within the industry. The respect for social and ethical issues within the company is one of the three main pillars of Rezidor’s ambitious, group wide Responsible Business Programme which has its roots as far back as 1989.

Every employee is introduced to Rezidor’s ethical culture and Code of Business Ethics through the Living Responsible Business training programme. This is the fourth year Ethisphere, a think-tank dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability, has published the WME rankings. Through in-depth research and a multi-step analysis, Ethisphere reviewed thousands of nominations from companies in over 100 countries and 36 industries in order to determine the winners. The methodology for the WME ranking includes reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.

Sortland, a small city in Northern Norway between Tromsø and Bodø, is a beautiful destination for activities such as hiking, cycling, boating, whale watching and fishing in the summer and dog sledding and views of the Northern Lights during winter. It is also a stop on the popular Hurtigruten cruises.

The Radisson Blu Sortland will be located at a waterfront site in the city centre. Besides 168 rooms the property will offer an all-day-dining restaurant with outdoor seating, a lobby bar, 300 square meters of meeting space, and a 1,500 square meters leisure area including 2 pools, 2 jacuzzis, 5 treatment rooms, saunas, and a climbing wall. In the adjacent Cultural Centre guests will find additional facilities for meetings and events on 900 square meters.
